From 18 to 23 May 2019, events will be held to prevent road traffic accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles.

An analysis of the operational situation in the field of road safety indicates that the problem of injuries to road users due to the fault of two-wheeled vehicle drivers becomes more acute in May-June. The insufficient level of discipline among these drivers is often a contributing factor to road traffic accidents.

For instance, in May-June 2018, within the Vitebsk region, 8 road traffic accidents were caused by motorcycle drivers, resulting in 3 fatalities and 6 injuries of varying severity. Five of these accidents were caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol. During the same period, 6 road traffic accidents involving cyclists occurred, leading to one fatality and 5 injuries.

To prevent and avert road traffic accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles, from May 18 to May 23, 2019, the public security police of the Vitebsk region are conducting measures to prevent road traffic accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles.
