The draft decree "On Priority Areas of Scientific, Scientific-Technical and Innovation Activities for 2021-2025" was discussed at a meeting of the Public Advisory Council for the Development of Entrepreneurship in Scientific, Technical and Innovation Spheres, held under the leadership of the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, Alexander Shumilin, BELTA was informed by the SCST.

The document is intended to approve as priority areas of scientific, scientific-technical and innovation activities: knowledge-intensive information and communication, digital and interdisciplinary technologies; life sciences (biological, chemical, medical and pharmaceutical technologies); energy, ecology and rational use of natural resources; mechanical engineering and innovative materials; agro-industrial and food technologies; human, societal and state security.

These priorities have been developed based on the comprehensive forecast of scientific and technical development of Belarus for 2021-2025 and for the period up to 2040, developed by the SCST.

"The draft decree of the head of state under discussion will allow concentrating state resources on the implementation of the most important and significant areas of scientific, scientific-technical and innovation activities for our country," emphasized Alexander Shumilin. He also noted that the measures taken by the state, the scientific and expert community will contribute to the sustainable innovative development of the country.

Following the meeting of the Public Advisory Council for the Development of Entrepreneurship in Scientific, Technical and Innovation Spheres under the SCST, the draft decree under consideration was generally approved.

The Regulation on the Public Advisory Council for the Development of Entrepreneurship in Scientific, Technical and Innovation Spheres was approved by order of the SCST. Its composition includes representatives of public administration bodies and public associations (Republican Association of Employers "BelSN", Council of NGO "Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship", Association "Innovative Instrument Engineering"), entrepreneurs, heads of technoparks and innovation companies ("Adani", "Technolit", "InCata", etc.).
