As noted by the press service of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction, work is currently underway in Belarus to reform legislation in the field of architecture, urban planning and construction. According to Decree No. 217 of June 5, 2019, new types of technical regulatory legal acts are being introduced in the country: construction norms, which include safety requirements for buildings and structures intended for mandatory application, and construction rules, which provide methods for achieving construction norms.

"Construction norms and rules comply with European standards. They will improve the quality of design documentation and the efficiency of construction, optimally combine traditional and progressive structures, products, advanced technologies while strictly adhering to safety regulations," the press service emphasized.

The current technical regulatory legal acts of other state bodies, in the part establishing mandatory requirements for the design and construction of facilities, will be repealed upon the entry into force of the new construction norms and rules.

The Ministry of Architecture and Construction reminded that a new section "Building Codes and Regulations" has been created on the official website of the department (www.mas.gov.by). It contains all current technical regulatory legal acts in the field of construction, as well as draft documents on building codes and regulations. Anyone can leave suggestions for improving the regulations using the "Feedback Form". All of them will be reviewed by the ministry's specialists.
