Issues of improvement should be resolved with the active participation of local residents - Anatoly Linevich

The resolution of landscaping issues should involve the active participation of local residents. This opinion was expressed to journalists by Anatoly Linevich, Aide to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, following a direct telephone line and a personal reception of citizens in Shumilino.

"Landscaping issues broadly affect people's interests, so their resolution should also involve their active participation. Perhaps, on a voluntary basis in some places. It is through joint efforts that everything should be put in order; that would be the right way," said Anatoly Linevich.

A resident of Novopolotsk, a native of the Shumilino District, raised the issues of landscaping cemeteries, burial sites of soldiers, and civilians killed during the war near the villages of Barsuki and Borki. The woman emphasised the importance of a responsible attitude towards preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War events. "This issue has already been addressed, but it needs to be reviewed again and everything put in order," stated Anatoly Linevich after discussing the appeal with the leadership of the district executive committee. He also suggested contacting the applicant during the work.

A worker from the agricultural enterprise "Lovzhanskoye", a mother of many children, contacted the direct telephone line. Her family is expecting the arrival of their fifth child in the near future. Due to the double reorganisation of the farm, the woman faced difficulties, including financial ones, in re-registering the documents for the land plot and house, which are currently owned by the enterprise. "This issue must be taken under control and help should be provided to resolve it," stressed Anatoly Linevich.

A resident of house No. 10 on Yubileynaya Street in the district centre expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the major renovation of her house. According to her, the work lasted almost 7 months. The problem arose after its completion: complications with the heating system began in the building. The pensioner also pointed out a number of other shortcomings that require close attention and correction. Anatoly Linevich instructed the local authorities to investigate why this happened and to inspect the general condition of the house. "If something is wrong, fix it," concluded the Aide to the President.

A resident of the village of Surovni contacted us regarding the calculation of child care benefits. The applicant received clarifications on all the nuances related to his life situation. The district executive committee also promised to provide the necessary support.

The head of OOO "Slavyansky Produkt", a vodka producer, came to the reception with the issue of the need for additional allocation of quotas for the sale of alcoholic products on the domestic market. Currently, the quotas allocated to the enterprise have been utilized by 92%. "The government is responsible for quota distribution. We will appeal to them, but redistribution requires serious justification," Anatoly Linevich noted to the applicant during the discussion of the appeal.

The issue of using thermal imagers and night vision devices for hunting was raised at the reception by an employee of the forestry enterprise. The man believes that the use of this equipment should only be permitted in the presence of gamekeepers or after appropriate notification of the forestry institution. The applicant believes that this issue concerns safety and therefore requires consideration at the legislative level.

Commenting on the results of the reception, Anatoly Linevich stated that people are most often concerned with everyday issues, so local authorities should try to help everyone within the framework of the law. "At the same time, there are more complex appeals where it is indeed necessary to consider the issue at the legislative level," he added.

According to the Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Viktor Gutorov, receptions and direct telephone lines with residents are regularly held in the district. "No appeal is left without attention. We try to help or find a suitable solution in each case. However, financial resources are not always sufficient. But we try to find options," the head of the district added.
