Over the first 11 months of the current year, 107 traffic accidents involving pedestrians were registered in the Vitebsk region, resulting in 20 fatalities and 89 injuries. 31 of these accidents were caused by pedestrians, leading to 7 fatalities and 24 injuries.

In this regard, from December 14, the State Automobile Inspectorate is conducting a set of preventive measures "Love life - live by the rules!".

We remind you that it is retroreflective elements that help drivers see pedestrians and cyclists in the dark.
It is important to attach reflectors correctly – they should be clearly visible to drivers, not hidden by a bag or clothing folds.
When cycling or driving a horse-drawn vehicle on the road at night and/or in conditions of poor visibility, a lamp emitting white light must be switched on at the front, and a lamp emitting red light at the rear. In addition, cyclists travelling outside populated areas must wear high-visibility vests.

In turn, drivers must exercise increased caution when passing through pedestrian crossings and driving on highways near populated areas.
