Housing and communal services, medical services, and wage arrears – Anatoly Linevich, Aide to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, held a reception for citizens in Vitebsk.

Residents of Vitebsk addressed housing and utility issues, salary matters, and services for people with disabilities to the President's Aide – Inspector for Vitebsk Region, Anatoly Linevich, during a reception of citizens and a direct line held at the administration of the Zheleznodorozhny District of the regional centre.

First to address the aide was a mother of many children. Six years ago, she had a flat built, but subsequently, questions arose regarding the quality of the work performed, specifically dampness in the building. The Capital Construction Directorate (UKS) had promised to rectify the shortcomings but failed to do so. Later, specialists visited the resident, inspected the heating system, ventilation, and air extraction. The instruments indicated that everything was in order, but the applicant disagreed. Anatoly Linevich instructed the responsible services to conduct further measurements, resolve the issue, and settle the dispute.

Several residents from house №30 on Moskovsky Avenue in Vitebsk came with a collective complaint. The five-storey building was constructed in 1963, and no major repairs have been carried out since. The complainants reported leaking pipes, dampness in the flats, outdated windows, and crumbling steps at the entrance to the building. The city authorities have been tasked with considering the possibility of including the building in the major repair schedule. The matter is under control.

A guardian of a 40-year-old disabled person from Vitebsk attended the reception. She complained that she currently has to take her child to the dental clinic, whereas previously, such services were provided at home. Transporting her disabled daughter to the medical facility is difficult. Considering that such provisions are stipulated by law, the President's Aide promised to clarify with the relevant ministries how the situation could be resolved.

Three employees of a private organisation in the city also approached Anatoly Linevich. They have not been paid their earned wages since March. Furthermore, due to the company's failure to settle payments with its employees, they are unable to resign and start new employment. The regional department of the State Labour Inspectorate will investigate this issue. During the direct telephone line, a worker from a sewing enterprise in the regional centre also raised concerns about wage arrears.

Speaking with journalists, Anatoly Linevich noted that, as before, questions mainly concerned the housing and communal services sector. "However, people themselves should not be indifferent to maintaining minimal order near their homes; they need to organize themselves to solve common problems," he remarked.

The President's Aide also stated that the CEO of OJSC "Dolomit," who approached him today with a request for assistance in modernizing the enterprise, will not be left without a response. The government will join the discussion of the proposal.

More than 20 people approached the President's Aide for a reception and a direct line. Issues raised included the removal of abandoned vehicles from courtyards, employment, connecting electric heating to homes, roads, and the improvement of settlements.
