The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora reminds that, in accordance with the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences, for the illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, or sale of instruments for catching fish and other aquatic animals, liability is provided for under Article 16.26 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences.
In accordance with the said article, the illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, or sale of instruments for catching fish and other aquatic animals, the principles of which are based on the use of electromagnetic fields, sound, and other physical effects that affect them, as well as the illegal sale or storage of net materials, fishing nets, and other instruments made of net materials, shall entail a fine of up to thirty basic units with or without confiscation of the object of the administrative offence, for an individual entrepreneur – up to two hundred basic units with or without confiscation of the object of the administrative offence, and for a legal entity – up to five hundred basic units with or without confiscation of the object of the administrative offence.
A person who voluntarily surrenders the items specified in this article shall be exempted from administrative liability for the acts provided for in this article.
