The prevention of tick-borne infections largely depends on the individual, therefore the Ministry of Health recommends following these rules:
to reduce the number of ticks in residential areas (private plots, dachas), clear unnecessary bushes and mow grass;
when in areas where ticks may be present, wear special clothing that prevents ticks from crawling onto the body, or wear everyday clothing that covers exposed skin areas as much as possible;
use special repellents, which are applied to clothing or skin (according to instructions).
If a tick is found attached to the body, you should seek medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility. If immediate access to a healthcare facility is not possible, you should remove the tick yourself and consult a healthcare institution at your place of residence for preventive treatment and medical observation.
