On April 21st at 15:29, the rescue service received a report of a flat fire in a barrack-type house on Maksim Gorky Street in Lepel. Upon the rescuers' arrival at the scene, the flat was observed to be on fire. At the time of the fire, the flat owner, born in 1960, was in the house but left independently and was not injured.

As a result of the fire, the roof and walls of the house were partially damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The suspected cause of the fire is the flat owner's careless handling of fire while smoking.

Dear citizens! Please observe fire safety rules in your homes, do not smoke in residential areas, and ensure that matches and cigarettes are extinguished after use.

Install autonomous fire alarms in your living rooms, which will promptly notify you of danger in case of a fire. And remember: one unextinguished cigarette can cost a life, and not just one!
