On August 28 at 19:45, the operational control center of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a fire in an apartment in the village of Borovka. Upon arrival at the scene, smoke was observed in an apartment located on the fourth floor of a five-story panel residential building. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations rescued the owner (he was carried out of the smoke-filled area and was found on the bed). After examination by the ambulance crew, he was hospitalized at the healthcare institution "Lepel Central District Hospital". As a result of the fire, property was damaged in the room, and the walls and ceiling were smoked. The cause of the fire was careless handling of fire while smoking by the apartment owner.
