Belarus's economic system must be aimed at unconditionally safeguarding people's interests. This was stated by the Head of State, Alexander Lukashenko, today at a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The President decided to discuss a package of draft normative acts with the members of the government and other participants of the meeting. According to him, the documents cover a wide range of issues and permeate important spheres of society's life. "Therefore, before signing them, it became necessary to clarify whether these proposals are sufficiently substantiated? Are they needed at all? Is there consensus among all stakeholders on their further implementation? Have all consequences been calculated by the developers?" - asked the Head of State.
First of all, Alexander Lukashenko touched upon issues whose unresolved nature people feel most acutely. "This concerns the guarantees of workers' rights at financially insolvent enterprises. This is a long-standing issue. There can be no compromises, of course, and the entire economic system of the country must be aimed at unconditionally safeguarding people's interests. There is no populism here," the President stated.
