One of the most pressing and complex problems of modern society is juvenile delinquency. The younger generation finds itself in a very difficult socio-psychological situation. Young people often lose the meaning of what is happening and lack the life skills that would allow them to preserve their individuality and form a healthy, effective lifestyle. Adolescents and children, under the influence of increasing stressful situations, suffer from possible negative consequences and are not prepared to overcome them. This leads to the search for means that help escape stress and anxieties, such as alcohol, drugs, the desire to leave home, and neglect.

Unfortunately, not every adolescent realizes what unlawful acts they commit lead to severe and difficult-to-correct consequences.

The causes of the formation of behaviour that deviates from norms are often: adverse family upbringing conditions, insufficient attention from parents.

Preventive work with children and adolescents is a complex, multifaceted, and time-consuming process. The most important task of preventive measures is the early identification of causes and conditions that contribute to deviation from law-abiding behaviour, the identification of adverse living and upbringing conditions of children even before they affect their behaviour, as well as the identification and elimination (neutralization) of sources of negative influences on adolescents that can form an anti-social personality position and contribute to the commission of offenses.

The main forms of work on crime prevention and the formation of law-abiding behaviour include: studying personality traits, teaching skills for proper and correct communication with others, organizing extracurricular activities, engaging minors during holidays, individual or group preventive talks with students and their parents, ensuring the engagement of children and adolescents in sports and other clubs and sections. Great responsibilitylies with parents, the family as a whole. However, the family in which children live, unfortunately, often becomes the subject of preventive work itself.

It should be noted that every parent must ensure control over their children's leisure time, and parents are also obliged to accompany their children at night. Timely detection of deviations in adolescent behavior and properly organized pedagogical and psychological assistance play a significant role in preventing the deformation of a growing person.
