Inspectors from the Supervision and Prevention Department of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations conducted inspections of the "Santa" store at 122A Voykova Street, Lepel, and the "Domashniy" store at 68 Chuykov Street, Lepel.
During the inspection of the "Santa" store at 122A Voykova Street, Lepel, violations of the "General Fire Safety Requirements for the Maintenance and Operation of Capital Structures (Buildings, Structures), Isolated Premises and Other Objects Belonging to Business Entities," approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 7 of 23.11.2017, were identified. Specifically, the building was not equipped with functional primary fire extinguishing means, evacuation plans were not prepared in accordance with the Ministry of Emergency Situations Resolution of 20.04.2018 No. 21 "On Establishing the Form of a Fire Evacuation Plan for People," and sliding doors were installed on the main evacuation route, which does not comply with the design documentation.
The inspection of the "Domashniy" store at 68 Chuykov Street, Lepel, revealed violations at the facility, namely: the constant readiness for the use of primary fire extinguishing means was not ensured, an information stand with fire safety information was not organised, and evacuation routes from the building were not marked with fire safety signs as required by technical normative legal acts.
Following the inspections, recommendations for rectifying the violations were issued to the management.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that in accordance with Article 20 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Fire Safety," the heads of organisations are responsible for ensuring fire safety and fire prevention regimes within their respective organisations.
