The Prosecutor's Office of Lepel District conducted an inspection regarding compliance with legislation on the provision of high-quality and timely medical care, as well as the availability of medicines for the district's residents.
During the inspection, facts were established regarding the absence of the necessary list of medicines for providing medical care to citizens at the district's paramedic and obstetric posts, and the presence of expired medicinal products at the pharmacy of a paramedic and obstetric post.
In addition to the above, violations were identified in the area of organising proper dispensary observation of children under 1 year of age. It was established that medical workers do not adhere to the frequency of visits for children in this category.
Violations were also identified concerning the provision of free medicines to children under 3 years of age, in accordance with the Resolution of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus No. 65 of 06.07.2007 "On establishing the list of essential medicines". It was established that medicinal products included in the aforementioned list were not issued by paediatricians on free prescriptions in a number of cases.
Shortcomings were also identified in the equipping of institutions providing medical care to citizens.
Based on the results of the inspection, the Prosecutor of Lepel District submitted a representation to the Healthcare Institution "Lepel Central District Hospital" and initiated 1 disciplinary proceeding.
