As part of the first stage of the republican campaign "Don't Burn Your Life Down", employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations embarked on another "Safety Route", where they organised informational and educational activities for the residents of the villages of Slobodsky and Lepelsky rural councils.

During the campaign, rescuers reminded those present of the basic fire safety rules. The discussion covered the proper operation of gas installations, electrical equipment, and stoves. The villagers were also reminded of the actions to take in case of a fire, the rules for calling emergency services, and were advised to equip their homes with autonomous fire alarms.
The issue of careless handling of fire by citizens, including during smoking, was also addressed. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded attendees of the potential consequences of the "cigarette + alcohol" combination, explained how to prevent fire hazardous situations while smoking, and emphasised that the neglect of elementary safety rules while smoking has already led to the deaths of 2 people in the district.
Local residents willingly engaged in dialogue with the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees, participated in the quiz "Interesting Facts About Smoking" and the competition "Exchange a Cigarette for a Candy". Few people were willing to give up their cigarettes, but those who did so admitted that a candy is much healthier than a cigarette.
Along with food items, people took away useful safety knowledge. They were presented with thematic leaflets containing important life safety recommendations as souvenirs.
