30 August, Novopolotsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Naftan OJSC plans to complete the construction and commissioning of 5 facilities included in the "Naftan 2010-2015" reconstruction and modernization program by the end of the current year, the enterprise's General Director Vladimir Tretyakov informed journalists today, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The facilities to be commissioned include projects for the construction of a vacuum unit for the "Visbreaking" unit, a "Penex" low-temperature isomerization unit, the reconstruction of circulating water supply unit No. 1, the construction of a liquefied gas storage park and loading rack, and the reconstruction of the flare gas recovery system. The commissioning of new facilities will ensure the production of high-octane gasoline components to improve the quality of manufactured products and deepen oil refining. Upon commissioning of the planned investment facilities, the oil refining depth is expected to reach 77.2% by the end of 2011.
Naftan OJSC has developed and is implementing a long-term program for the reconstruction and modernization of its production facilities, financed by its own funds and bank loans. Currently, Naftan OJSC is in the implementation phase of the "Naftan 2010-2015" reconstruction and modernization program, which is based on the latest achievements in oil refining and takes into account the rapidly changing demands of sales markets, aiming to improve operational efficiency and bring the enterprise to the level of leading European oil refining companies, explained Vladimir Tretyakov.
22 major investment projects are currently underway. Work has begun on the construction of a delayed coking unit, the goal of which is to increase the oil refining depth to 92%-94% and produce additional volumes of light oil products. The total cost of the program's projects is approximately $1.4 billion.
The implementation of the "Program 2010-2015" will allow Naftan OJSC to increase oil processing to 12.0 million tons per year, boost the output of high-octane motor fuels, diesel fuel, and vacuum gas oil, and, for the first time in Belarus, commence the production of a new product – petroleum coke. It will also reduce specific energy consumption for product manufacturing and ensure product quality compliance with European standards. In the production of motor fuels, a transition to the exclusive output of high-octane grades will be carried out in accordance with the technical regulations. The production of diesel fuel with a sulfur content exceeding 10 ppm will be discontinued, ensuring its compliance with Euro-5 requirements.
Naftan OJSC is a company with a fuel, oil, and aromatic profile, producing approximately 70 types of certified commercial products, including "Normal-80", AI-92, and AI-95 motor fuels, diesel fuels, jet fuel, boiler fuels, fuel oils, lubricating oils, petroleum bitumens and solvents, and individual aromatic hydrocarbons. The entire volume of diesel fuel is produced in accordance with Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards. The Novopolotsk oil refinery was commissioned in 1963. In 2002, the enterprise was corporatized, and in 2008, the company was reorganized through the merger of a major chemical enterprise – Polimir OJSC.
