20 September, Minsk /Andrei Asfura - BELTA/. Naftan OJSC will spend $700 million on the installation of a delayed coking unit. This was announced today to journalists by Dmitry Avrach, Deputy Head of the Main Department for Prospective Development and Investment of the Belneftekhim concern, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. The project includes the construction of a delayed coking unit, hydrogen and sulfur production units, as well as the reconstruction of two hydrotreating units. This will allow the Novopolotsk oil refinery to increase the depth of oil refining to 92%. The project is planned to be implemented by 2015, with a total cost of $700 million. A diesel fuel hydrotreating unit has been built at the Mozyr refinery, which allows the enterprise to produce Euro-5 standard automotive fuel. In the near future, it is planned to install a complex for deep processing of heavy oil residues. The cost of the project is estimated at one and a half billion dollars. Currently, the first contracts with equipment suppliers have already been concluded. The representative of Belneftekhim noted that the main task of oil refineries in Belarus is to achieve a depth of oil refining at the level of leading global enterprises, i.e., over 90%. -0-
