JSC "Vitebsk Carpets" is organizing the production of a new type of carpet for Belarus.
"Bellegprom" noted that this innovative project was selected based on an open competitive selection from a large list of other proposals to be funded from the innovation fund for 2013. In total, 25 projects of the concern were identified through the competition out of 27 works. Their total cost is Br44.4 billion, with a planned volume of the innovation fund for 2013 of Br19.7 billion.
The list also includes 11 research projects on the development of innovative technologies in the light industry, 7 projects on the creation of new products or improvement of technologies, and 6 projects on information support for innovative activities. Their executors are Vitebsk State Technological University, the Centre for Scientific Research of the Light Industry, RUPTP "Orsha Linen Mill", open joint-stock companies "Gronitex", "Mogotex", "Lenta", "Belafa", "Sukno", "Fashion Centre", "Polesie", "8 Marta", "KIM", "Lida Shoe Factory", "Minsk Experimental Furniture Factory", RUP "Vetka Cotton Spinning Mill".
In accordance with the regulations on the procedure for conducting an open competition, an expert review of the submitted projects (works) has been carried out within the concern. According to the competition terms, they must align with the priority areas of scientific and technical activities in the light industry. These projects are aimed at the development and improvement of technologies in the production and finishing of textile, knitwear, and garment products, footwear production, leather, leather goods, fur, haberdashery, hardware, and porcelain and earthenware products, as well as waste processing. The projects must include the co-financing of the work by the implementing organization. Currently, the list compiled by the concern has been sent for approval to the Ministry of Economy and the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus. -0-BELTA
