President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko discussed the progress of the harvesting campaign, the performance of integration structures in the agro-industrial complex, and the production of domestic vaccines during a working meeting with Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the progress of agricultural work in the region: the harvesting campaign, fodder procurement, and sowing of winter rapeseed. "It so happened that you must harvest first and sow first, even if you sow last in the spring. Therefore, you need to sow quickly: after all, the Vitebsk region is a zone of risky farming. For this, it is necessary to promptly clear the fields after harvesting and prepare them for sowing. How are things going here?" Alexander Lukashenko inquired.

A second important issue is the operation of integrated agro-industrial structures. The President keeps this topic under constant control. "After all, we shook up Vitebsk with you in due time. It seems people have understood – the Vitebsk people are great. You just need to stir people up and not offend them," the Head of State emphasized.

"Another topic is pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. It so happened that we aimed for our own vaccines. How are we doing with the development of our main enterprise – 'BelVitunipharma'?" the President asked.

According to the governor, the harvest in the Vitebsk region is proceeding actively, with many farms having already completed it, and some even celebrating local "Dazhynki" festivals. "We are now in the process of relocating equipment to maximally harvest the remaining fields in farms that are struggling. A decision has been made at the regional level, and we are actively monitoring it now," added the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

Alexander Subbotin did not come to the Palace of Independence empty-handed: the governor brought the President a loaf of bread in honor of the threshing of one million tons of grain. At the same time, just over 89% of the sown areas in the region have been harvested. According to him, such a harvest in the Vitebsk region was previously recorded only in 1976 and 2014.
