The mandatory accompaniment of children under 16 years of age by parents or guardians during nighttime hours will be enshrined in Belarusian legislation, stated Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, at a meeting with the work collective of the open joint-stock company "Glubokoye Dairy and Canned Goods Plant" today, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. Vladimir Andreichenko noted that a number of draft laws are expected to be adopted at the penultimate session of this convocation, which have required the deputies to work intensively and study public opinion. Among such draft laws, he mentioned the adoption of amendments to the law on the fundamentals of the system for the prevention of neglect in the second reading. The amendments provide for the introduction of a restriction on children under 16 years of age staying on the street without parental or guardian accompaniment between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. If a child is alone, law enforcement agencies will be obliged to deliver them to their parents within three hours; if this is not possible, the child will be temporarily placed in a social shelter. "These amendments are primarily aimed at ensuring the safety of children," emphasized Vladimir Andreichenko.
