Winners of the national film schools competition of the XXIV Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad-2017" have been announced, as reported to BELTA by the forum's press service.
The prize "For the Best Film of the National Film Schools Competition" was awarded to the film "Bonds" by Zofia Kowalewska, a representative of the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź.
The film "The Lake" by director Daria Blokhina (Saint Petersburg State Institute of Film and Television) received a diploma for its poignant portrayal of a person's life in harsh natural conditions, maintaining strength of spirit and joy of life.
The film "In Another World" (director Anna Bedyńska, Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov School of Documentary Film and Theatre) received a diploma for its artistic embodiment of the theme of moral choice and love as the most important meaning of life.
This year, interest in the competition was very high, with the organizers receiving a large number of applications for participation. The competition featured works from 13 national film schools from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Belgium, Israel, and Greece, traditionally presenting 5-6 works for the jury's consideration. The Belarusian film school was represented by the film "May" (director Alexander Komissarchuk) from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.
The XXIV Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad" runs from November 3 to 10 under the slogan "Truth, Love, and Beauty". The directorate of the year's main film event is the "ART Corporation" Centre for Visual and Performing Arts. The organizers are the Ministry of Culture, the Minsk City Executive Committee, with the participation of Belteleradiocompany, the National Film Studio "Belarusfilm", and the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers.
