23 May, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. The regional programming olympiad and the "Exhibition of Children's Research Projects" will be held today in Vitebsk, the regional institute for the development of education informed a BELTA correspondent.
In addition to intellectual competitions, participants will have a meeting with representatives of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.
"The regional programming olympiad for students of grades 5-6 has been held in the region since 2001. Over the years, many of its participants have become winners of regional and national informatics olympiads and have successfully participated in programming competitions in Russia," specialists emphasized.
Today will also see the opening of the in-person round of the regional competition for primary school students, "Exhibition of Children's Research Projects." The competition will be held in the form of an open poster presentation of research papers on various topics, including: "Growing Sugar Crystals at Home," "Making a Magnet from a Nail," "The Impact of De-icing Agents on Road Users," "Why My Violin Sings," and others. During this competition, interviews will be held with the young researchers who will talk about the planning, progress, and results of their experiments.
The events are organised by the education department of the regional executive committee and the regional institute for the development of education.-0-
