On March 22, Sennо will host the fifth regional festival-competition of puppet theatres and batleykas, BELTA was informed by the Sennо District Executive Committee.
The annual theatrical event will take place on the stage of the district Centre of Culture and Folk Art. Throughout the day, groups from 12 districts of the Vitebsk region, with a total number of over 100 people, will compete in stage mastery. At the festival, they will present new productions based on well-known folk tales. Schoolchildren and pupils of kindergartens from the district centre and nearby settlements will traditionally be attentive and grateful spectators.
Another kind tradition of the festival is the charity event "A Gift for Children," during which creative groups from the region present gifts for the pupils of the Sennо boarding school for children left without parental care.
The event is organised by the Department of Culture of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Vitebsk Regional Methodological Centre of Folk Art, and the Sennо District Executive Committee.
