In the Vitebsk region, 94% of the potato crop has been harvested, and 45% of the agricultural land has been cleared of seasonal vegetables by farmers.

As of October 11, potato harvesting in the region was completed on more than 1.6 thousand hectares, which accounted for 94% of the total area planted with the staple crop. In total, the region's farmers harvested 51.2 thousand tons of potatoes. The average yield of the crop in the region was 308 centners per hectare. The current unfavorable weather conditions have affected the yield of one of the most popular vegetables. This year's yield is lower than that of the same period last year, when the average yield was 371 centners per hectare. Traditionally, Tolochin Cannery leads in potato harvesting, with a yield of 386 centners per hectare. Districts of the region have completed or are completing the harvesting of these root crops, with the Vitebsk district having the most work remaining.

Regarding the harvesting of other vegetables, farmers are approaching the halfway point. Carrots, beets, cabbage, and other crops have been harvested from 120 hectares, which constitutes 45% of the total. In total, agricultural enterprises of the Vitebsk region have harvested 3.6 thousand tons of vegetables.

In many districts, students from colleges and lyceums are assisting farmers, particularly those pursuing agricultural education. Young men and women are participating in the harvesting of seasonal vegetables to ensure the campaign is completed before the frost.
