Nearly 70% of flax crops have been harvested in the Vitebsk region, as reported by the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee.

In total, 13.2 thousand hectares of flax are to be harvested in the region this year. The crops are concentrated in Verkhnedvinsk, Glubokoe, Dubrovno, Liozno, Miory, Postavy, and Tolochin districts. As of the morning of August 13, 68% of the areas of this crop, or 9 thousand hectares, have been harvested. Currently, the flax straw in these areas is undergoing retting. It is being loosened and turned, and pressed as it becomes ready. This cycle of work has been completed on 685 hectares, or 5% of the harvested areas. This process is being carried out most actively in the fields of the Orekhovsky flax mill (Orsha district), where flax straw has been pressed from 310 hectares.

The entire technological cycle of flax harvesting in the region will continue until mid-September, specialists added.

The main focus of the region's agricultural workers is currently on grain harvesting. In the region, 194.6 thousand hectares of these crops have already been harvested (more than 50% of the areas). 638.6 thousand tons of grain have been threshed with an average yield of 32.8 centners per hectare. The highest harvesting pace is maintained by the agricultural workers of Postavy district, where 64% of the areas have been mown. Most districts of the region have surpassed the 50% mark, with the exception of Glubokoe, Gorodok, Dokshitsy, Liozno, Senno, Tolochin, and Ushachi districts, which are only approaching this significant milestone.
