According to statistics, the cause of every 6th fire is the violation of the rules for operating electrical appliances and equipment.

It is difficult to imagine modern life without such familiar and convenient items as mobile phones, refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, electric blankets, and fan heaters – all these electrical appliances have become reliable assistants to people in everyday life. However, having become constant and reliable companions of humans, appliances can not only bring benefits but also harm – for example, cause a fire.

To prevent such incidents in your home, observe the necessary safety measures:
- do not overload the electrical network. The fewer electrical appliances operating simultaneously, the safer it is;
- place electric heating appliances, including irons and electric stoves, on a non-combustible surface;
- to prevent electrical appliances from catching fire due to surges and voltage fluctuations in the network, use surge protectors;
- do not use old-style electric stoves and heaters (with exposed heating elements);
- do not leave switched-on electrical appliances unattended;
- regularly remove dust from the back panel of the refrigerator;
- do not leave flammable materials near electrical appliances (TVs, refrigerators, heaters, etc.);
- avoid leaving the television on standby for extended periods if you are leaving home or going to bed. The same rule applies to charging mobile phones and tablets. Once the battery is fully charged, the charger should be unplugged.
Before using an electrical appliance, carefully study its operating instructions and strictly follow its requirements.
However, if it is sufficient to unplug televisions, electric kettles, and other electrical appliances before leaving, what about refrigerators? An autonomous fire alarm can be indispensable here. Even if the owners are not at home, their neighbours can hear its sound and raise the alarm.
