The Lepel District Election Commission has been formed

In accordance with Part Nine of Article 24 and the Fourth Paragraph of Part One of Article 34 of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Presidium of the Lepel District Council of Deputies and the District Executive Committee resolved to establish a district electoral commission consisting of 11 members, and to include representatives of public associations and citizens nominated by submitting an application in the composition of the Lepel District Electoral Commission.

The requirement that at least one-third of the commission members are formed from representatives of political parties and other public associations – five (55 percent) – has also been met.

During the preparation for the joint meeting of the Presidium of the District Council of Deputies and the District Executive Committee, consultations were held with representatives of individual public associations. The personal qualities of the candidates were studied, taking into account their participation in previous election campaigns, other political events, their active life stance, participation in public life, and their ability to work collectively. It should be noted that positive references were received for all candidates.

The members of the Presidium of the District Council of Deputies and the District Executive Committee were provided in advance with lists of all nominated members for the district commission. The members of the Presidium and the District Executive Committee held a preliminary discussion of the candidates for possible inclusion in the commission.

Thus, the norms for forming the commission have been observed. In accordance with Article 34 of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Belarus, district electoral commissions are formed with a number of members ranging from nine to 11. The Lepel District Electoral Commission has been elected with the maximum number of members – 11 people.
