On January 31, Minsk / Olga Belyavskaya - BELTA /. An educational event dedicated to the World Wetlands Day will be held on February 2 in Miory and Miory District (Vitebsk Region), the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection informed a BELTA correspondent. The event is organized within the framework of the joint EU/UNDP project "Assistance in the Development of a Comprehensive International Cooperation Framework for Environmental Protection in the Republic of Belarus". During the event, it is planned to hold 5 simultaneous open lessons on the topic "Conservation of Biodiversity in Wetlands" at 3 urban and 2 rural schools. The lessons will be conducted by teachers together with representatives of the EU/UNDP project and territorial bodies of the Ministry of Natural Resources. The campaign is aimed at drawing public attention to the problem of biodiversity conservation, acquiring new knowledge about the flora and fauna of the "Yelnya" landscape reserve by students and teachers of schools in Miory and Miory District, and fostering a consciously careful attitude towards the environment among adolescents. The national implementing organization of the project is the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.-0-
