The energy sector is a very serious industry, and a decline in its performance must not be allowed. This task was set by the Head of State when appointing Denis Moroz as the Minister of Energy, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"A very serious appointment. Are you, Aleksei Ivanovich (Aleksei Kushnarenko, who is moving from the post of minister to the position of Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee. - BELTA note), sure that Denis will cope with the work of the minister?" the President asked.

"Precisely, Comrade President. I have known Denis Ravilyevich for a long time. And I have no doubt about his professional competence, his capabilities, his knowledge, and experience, which will allow the energy system to be structured as it should operate," replied Aleksei Kushnarenko.

Aleksandr Lukashenko inquired whether the lack of practical experience for Denis Moroz would be a hindrance: "It's nothing terrible that he hasn't climbed poles like a fitter, so to speak?"

"In his case, I think not. Because he is a trainable person," Aleksei Kushnarenko replied confidently.

In this regard, the Head of State noted that Denis Moroz himself had even taught people, referring to his experience working at the Gomel State Technical University, as well as the State Institute for Professional Development and Retraining of Personnel in the Field of Gas Supply "GAZ-INSTITUT".

Aleksei Kushnarenko assured that his successor is capable and able to work in a team of specialists who will surround him, possessing the necessary practical experience.

"And will the specialists, as you said, and the ministry accept him as their leader? This is the energy sector. You are all smart, capable, and talented. This is a very serious industry. Will his subordinates accept him there?" the Head of State continued to ask.

Aleksei Kushnarenko also answered this question affirmatively.

"Considering that we have a Deputy Prime Minister who is also an energy specialist (Viktor Karankevich, who himself previously headed the Ministry of Energy. - BELTA note), I think the industry will not decline. Although we have invested significantly in the energy sector. It will be bad if something collapses there during your tenure as minister," Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed Denis Moroz.

"We will not allow it," assured the new minister.

Denis Moroz has held the position of Deputy Minister of Energy from 2021 to the present, and from 2016 to 2021, he headed the Project Research Republican Unitary Enterprise "NIi Belgiprotophgaz".
