During his trip to Postavy, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the local dairy plant.
At the enterprise, the Head of State familiarised himself with the cheese production process and tasted several types of products.
At the plant, the President was also shown new beef sausage products from the Glubokoye meat processing plant. "We can do everything!" the Head of State commented.
"And it's tasty!" added Alexander Subbotin, Governor of the Vitebsk Region.
An agro-industrial association of 6 organisations has been established on the basis of the Postavy Dairy Plant (a total of 137 organisations are covered by the integration experiment in the Vitebsk Region). For January-July, the association generated over Br100 million in revenue from product sales, which is one-third higher than last year's level. Sales profitability was almost 15%.
The Postavy Dairy Plant started operations in 1963 as a skimmed milk powder plant. However, the first archival records of a milk processing enterprise in the town date back to pre-war sources. Therefore, July 1, 1939, is considered the birth date of the milk processing plant.
In the late 1980s, the enterprise was transferred to the Glubokoye Dairy and Preserves Plant as a production unit, which was involved in receiving milk from farms.
In 2013, the plant introduced hard cheese production. Currently, these products are the main ones in the production structure: cheese output accounts for over 72%. Almost another 14% is accounted for by the production of whole milk products, and 10.4% by butter production.
The President visited the Khotily-Agro dairy farm, where he was informed about the progress of the harvesting campaign across the country and the Vitebsk Region. Alexander Lukashenko is checking how the agro-industrial associations in the northern region of the country are operating, and a major meeting on the state of the agricultural sector is also underway.
