Approximately 11,000 schoolchildren in the Vitebsk region will be recuperated in day camps during the upcoming spring break from March 27 to April 2, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by Elena Andreikova, Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population.
Approximately 11,000 schoolchildren in the Vitebsk region will be recuperated in day camps during the upcoming spring break from March 27 to April 2, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by Elena Andreikova, Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population.
"Day camps based at educational institutions are one of the priority areas for the rest, health improvement, and employment of schoolchildren. For many families, this option has become the most accessible form of holiday organisation, providing meals and ensuring the safety of children's lives and health. Therefore, during the spring break, 400 day camps are planned to operate in the Vitebsk region, where 11,000 schoolchildren will be recuperated," noted Elena Andreikova. "We will strive to maximally organise leisure and health improvement activities for children from large, foster, and guardianship families, as well as minors in socially dangerous situations and under various types of preventive supervision."
Each educational institution has developed a special health and educational programme for students, including physical education classes, sports and cultural events, hikes and excursions, games and contests, activities in clubs, sections, and creative workshops, and themed discos. Traditional opening and closing ceremonies for the camp session, preventive talks, journey-games, intellectual programmes, and excursions to libraries and exhibition halls will also be held. Significant attention will be paid to sessions with a psychologist and social educator, as well as thematic discussions and campaigns. Educational work will focus on civic-patriotic education, the formation of a healthy lifestyle, responsible and safe behaviour, spiritual and moral development, environmental education, and the development of creative abilities and aesthetic taste.
The duration of the camp session will be 6 days. Children will be provided with balanced three meals a day, with the cost amounting to Br3.8 per child per day.
