Around 1.2 thousand industrial enterprises of republican and communal ownership in the Vitebsk region will undergo modernization in 2013, the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The work of the industrial complex organizations of the region will be aimed at the technical re-equipment and modernization of existing and the organization of new production facilities, the output of high-quality and in-demand products with high added value and their sale in foreign markets, and the maximum utilization of production and labor potential. It is planned to attract Br5.8 trillion in investments for these purposes. Regarding the largest investment projects, the committee noted an impressive list of measures for 2013 for the modernization of meat and dairy industry enterprises in the region, among which the most prominent are the ongoing projects for the creation of new cheese production facilities at the Postavy Dairy Plant and the Braslav branch of the Glubokoye Dairy and Canning Plant. OJSC "Vitebsk Fruit and Vegetable Processing Plant" has outlined significant projects for the production of import-substituting innovative products within the framework of the republican program "Baby Food" for implementation in 2013. The reconstruction of the baby food workshop with the organization of production of vegetable-meat and vegetable-fish canned goods is currently being completed at this enterprise. Next year, it is also planned to establish the production of children's herbal infusions and thermostable fillings for the confectionery industry (confiture, jam, preserves), which will increase the utilization of production capacities and the volume of output. Light industry enterprises of the region (OJSC "Znamya Industrializatsii", GP "Vitebchanka", OJSC "KIM") are focused in 2013 on further production development through the acquisition of new high-performance equipment. The largest among them, Orsha Flax Mill, intends to complete its technical re-equipment, which will increase the volume of fabric production, improve their quality and competitiveness, and increase labor productivity.
