On January 8, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Approximately 1.6 thousand new jobs will be created in the Vitebsk region in 2013 under the regional program for innovative and investment development, the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
The regional program is a long-term strategic plan for the economic and social development of the region and includes 19 subprograms. The subprograms cover various areas, from industry to the development of tourism and recreational infrastructure. The program for the current five-year period includes 765 measures, of which one-third have already been completed, and another third are in the implementation stage.
In 2012, about Br20 trillion was allocated and utilized for the regional program. For example, Br388.5 billion was allocated to the "Vittorg" trade development subprogram; Br22.3 billion was allocated for the in-depth wood processing at local enterprises "VitDrev-Mebel"; Br320.7 billion for the "Five Hundred" tourism and recreational infrastructure development subprogram; Br74.1 billion for "Vitneftekhim"; Br1155.3 billion for the "Northern Capital" Vitebsk development subprogram; and Br408 billion for the subprogram for the development of small and medium-sized urban settlements in the Vitebsk region. In the region, 8 solar water heating units were commissioned, and 7 sets of solar collectors were installed at the facilities of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Railway. 43 retail facilities were built and reconstructed. In Vitebsk, LED lighting was installed on one of the bridges, and a mobile stage complex was set up. Since the launch of the "Five Hundred" subprogram, 318 facilities have been commissioned and improved: 40 roadside service facilities, 38 hunting lodges, 121 agro-ecotourism estates, and 119 recreation areas on water bodies have been improved.
Last year, 107 new enterprises and production facilities were created at existing enterprises. For example, in the Beshenkovichi district, SOOO "Vitkonprodukt" opened a workshop for breeding a parent herd, pasta production was launched at one of the private enterprises, furniture production was mastered in the Braslav district, and "Mozzarella" cheese production was mastered in the Verkhnedvinsk district. Thus, over 5 thousand new jobs were created in the region.
