Mobile teams will be formed from healthcare professionals to ensure vaccination of rural residents.
A total of about 490,000 people, or about 40% of the population, are planned to be vaccinated against influenza in the Vitebsk region this season. This includes 19% of the region's population funded by the local budget, 13% by the republican budget, and 8% by funds from enterprises and organisations.
The vaccine is expected to arrive soon. Active immunisation will commence in early October.
Vladimir Sinkevich reminded about the importance of this seasonal preventive measure. "A timely vaccination allows one to avoid the disease or experience it with less harm to health, helps protect a person, and significantly reduces the risk of illness for their relatives and loved ones," the chief physician emphasised.
Currently, the Vitebsk region maintains a stable situation regarding the incidence of acute respiratory infections, corresponding to the season.
