In the Vitebsk region, the BRSM is ready to offer about 5,000 places in student work teams for young people wishing to work during the summer, reported Vyacheslav Khrol, First Secretary of the Regional Committee of the BRSM."Mainly, this concerns employment within the region. There are also positions in other regions of the country. For example, our teams from Novopolotsk and the Orsha district will work at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant facilities and the Atlant enterprise in Minsk. A year-round medical team from the local medical college is already operating at Polotsk Central City Hospital. Since the beginning of the year, 15 people have already taken the opportunity to work there as junior medical staff," noted Vyacheslav Khrol.
According to the First Secretary, student work teams are currently being formed across all specialisations – agricultural, construction, pedagogical, and service-oriented, including through online applications. Participants of service-oriented student work teams will commence their work on June 15, when children's health camps open.
In 2019, 4.8 thousand people were employed in student work teams in the Vitebsk region, including 2 thousand minors. "Based on the results of the national competition, our representatives were recognised in many nominations, for example, as the best labour affairs headquarters, teams, and commanders. Moreover, for several years now, the construction team 'Evrika' has received the challenge banner as the best student team, and the 'Vesna-Energo' branch of RUP 'Vitebskenergo' (Polotsk) as the best employer," added the head of the regional organisation.
