Approximately 5,000 participants from 37 countries are expected to attend the XXVI International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Vasily Zharko, at a meeting of the organising committee for the preparation and holding of the forum, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Around 5,000 participants alone are expected, not including the hundreds of young people involved in the BRSM youth project during the festival. Based on previous years' experience, approximately 100,000 guests are anticipated. In this regard, Vasily Zharko instructed the authorities to ensure the availability of information in tourist information centres and on city information resources regarding all available accommodation options: municipal property, facilities belonging to institutions and organisations, and private landlords. This applies not only to Vitebsk but also to nearby towns.
According to the Mayor of Vitebsk, Viktor Nikolaikin, there are 1,400 hotel places and an additional 1,000 places in dormitories available for festival participants. Check-in schedules are very tight: as soon as a room becomes available, a new guest is accommodated. The Chairman of the City Executive Committee assured that there would be no problems with participant accommodation.
The XXVI International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be held from July 13 to 17 (additional events are scheduled for July 10-12 and 18-19).
