Around 50 cases of "envelope" salary payments were uncovered by tax authorities in the Vitebsk region over 9 months, the press center of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties for the Vitebsk region informed BELTA. "During control measures for employers' compliance with labor legislation in January-September of the current year, tax authorities of the Vitebsk region identified 46 business entities paying "envelope" salaries. As a result of the measures taken, Br129.5 million was additionally charged, including Br81 million in income tax. Administrative fines totaling Br22.5 million were imposed," the press center reported. A comparison of incurred expenses with received income was carried out for 437 managers, founders, their close relatives, and employees of organizations paying insignificant salaries, with the aim of identifying income concealed from taxation. Declarations of income and property were requested from 80 citizens. Based on 57 audited declarations, income tax totaling Br126.7 million was additionally charged. -0-
