5 October, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Around 800 running enthusiasts will compete on 6 October at a sports festival in Senno, the Senno District Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. Traditionally, all those wishing to participate, from children to pensioners, can join the annual run in memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union Pyotr Mironovich Masherov. The main contingent will be represented by residents of Senno District and other districts of the Vitebsk region. Organisers also expect representatives from the Minsk region and border regions of Russia, who come to Senno every year specifically to participate in the run. Marathon participants will be offered distances of 1 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km. The Senno District Executive Committee has prepared prizes for the fastest runners, competing in teams and individual categories, in various age groups. Among the awardees will also be the luckiest contestant, determined by a draw of participant numbers. Alongside the exciting sporting events, the festival will delight guests with a rich cultural programme. -0-
