14 November, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Approximately Br2 billion was allocated in 2013 for the reconstruction of the swimming pool at the Children and Youth Sports School (DYuSSh) No. 4 in Vitebsk, the institution informed a BELTA correspondent.

As a result of the reconstruction, which lasted almost five months (from July to November), the roof was renovated, and window units in the small pool area and the aerobics hall were replaced. A full range of works was completed in the large pool: showers, rooms, and the pool basin measuring 25 m by 12 m were repaired.

DYuSSh No. 4 was commissioned in 1985. Major repairs to the building had not been carried out before. A phased renovation of the facility began in 2011, with radiators and windows in the large pool hall being replaced. The main volume of work was carried out this year and financed from the regional budget. To carry out the final stage of reconstruction, which DYuSSh plans to fully complete in 2014, approximately another Br1.5 billion is needed for the repair of the small pool and the lobby.

Today, a ceremony will be held to open the large pool with the participation of representatives of regional and city authorities, youth, and the public. This is an important event for the residents of Vitebsk. More than 1.5 thousand people visit the pool monthly. Not only city residents but also professional athletes engage in swimming here. As an incentive, the best students of Secondary School No. 7 receive season tickets to the pool.-0-
