On November 11, Vitebsk /Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Approximately Br2.8 billion has been allocated for the construction of a new bus station in the district center of Liozno, Vitebsk region, which is ready to receive passengers. The official opening of the facility is scheduled for November 12, as reported to BELTA correspondent by the republican motor transport territorial unitary enterprise "Vitebskoblavtotrans".
The project was financed from the regional budget. The new bus station building in the district center can accommodate up to a thousand passengers per day. Currently, the bus station serves over 20 bus routes, including a number of intercity and international ones.
Now, the Liozno bus station is integrated into the republican ticket sales network, which allows passengers, while in Liozno, to plan their journeys and purchase tickets for bus routes from any point in Belarus where a bus station is connected to such a network. It is planned that by the end of the year, all bus stations in the settlements of Vitebsk region will be connected to the republican ticket sales network.
Furthermore, in accordance with the project, measures have been implemented at the bus station to create a barrier-free environment for people with reduced mobility.
Creating comfortable conditions for passengers in rural areas is one of the priorities in the activities of "Vitebskoblavtotrans", therefore, work on the development of motor transport facilities in the region will continue in 2012, particularly in Braslav and Polotsk. Over the past five years, reconstruction or construction of new bus station buildings has been carried out in Dokshitsy and Begoml, Orsha, Tolochin, Beshenkovichi. -0-
