The list of measures for preparing the city and district for the holiday includes current and major repairs of a significant number of social sphere facilities. Thus, 6 cultural facilities will get a new look: the building of the Glubokoye City House of Culture, the City Centre of Culture with the I. Buynitsky Theatre Hall, the Historical and Ethnographic Museum, the Children's Art School, and the former library building. An alley with busts of famous natives of Glubokoye will appear in the square on "September 17" Square, and among them are many names known throughout the world: aviation technology general designer Pavel Sukhoi, folklorist and artist Yuzef Drozdovich, creator of Hebrew, the state language of Israel, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, and the founder of the Belarusian theatre, Ignacy Buynitsky. The dormitories of the Glubokoye State Vocational Lyceum of Agricultural Production, the District Gymnasium, as well as Schools No. 2 and No. 3 will meet the holiday renewed. The third stage of the city stadium reconstruction is in full swing, and the building of the central district polyclinic is undergoing major repairs. Catering facilities are also preparing to receive guests and are directing considerable funds to repairs. Over Br100 billion has been allocated for the preparation for the holiday, including almost Br50 billion from the regional and district budgets. As Mikhail Cherepkovsky noted, residents of the district and enterprises are also taking an active part in preparing for the holiday. They have transferred over Br600 million to a charity account. Of the 18 Days of Written Language held in Belarus, four times cities in the Vitebsk region have become their capitals. The first capital was Polotsk.
