The Concept of Information Security of Belarus has been published. The full version of the document is available on the official Internet portal of the President of Belarus, BELTA reports.

The Concept is a system of official views on the essence and content of ensuring national security in the information sphere, defines strategic tasks and priorities in the field of ensuring information security.

The document ensures a comprehensive approach to the issue of information security, creates a methodological basis for improving activities to strengthen it, serves as a basis for forming state policy, developing measures to improve the information security system, constructive interaction, consolidation of efforts and increasing the effectiveness of protecting national interests in the information sphere.

The Concept is based on the Concept of National Security of Belarus and proceeds from the geopolitical interests of Belarus, its place and role in the modern world.

As noted in the document, at the current stage of world development, the information sphere is of key importance for modern man, society, and the state, and has a comprehensive impact on the economic, political, and social processes occurring in countries and regions.

The information society being formed on a global scale is a new stage of civilization development with the predominance of knowledge and information, and the impact of information technologies on all spheres of human activity. The role of information technologies in exercising the rights and freedoms of citizens is fundamentally increasing.

At the same time, the transformation of society into an information society generates new risks, challenges, and threats that directly affect the issues of ensuring national security, including the security of the information space, information infrastructure, information systems, and resources.

"The formation of an information society in the Republic of Belarus, ensuring the accessibility of information, the dissemination and use of knowledge for progressive and forward-looking development, is considered a national priority and a state-wide task," the document emphasizes.
