Today and in the coming days, deteriorating weather conditions are forecast for Belarus. Orange level of danger has been declared for Monday due to strong winds and snowfalls.

 The State Automobile Inspectorate recommends that drivers take into account that vehicle controllability deteriorates in such weather, and the risk of skidding increases. When driving, you should be extremely attentive and cautious. It is important to choose a safe speed, distance, and lateral interval, taking into account the intensity of traffic flow and the condition of the roadway.

In case of skidding, follow these rules:

 turn the steering wheel smoothly in the direction of the skid;

on a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, release the accelerator; on a front-wheel-drive vehicle, conversely, slightly increase the fuel supply;

when the car exits the skid, return the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position;

under no circumstances press the brake.

Remember that rushing while driving, especially in adverse weather conditions, is unacceptable! In case of heavy precipitation, it is better to refrain from travelling by private transport altogether!

 Pedestrians should also be more prudent and cautious. When crossing the roadway, look carefully to the sides. Even when crossing the road at a regulated pedestrian crossing, make sure that all drivers have stopped, as the braking distance of vehicles is significantly increased. During precipitation and in the dark, identify yourself with high-visibility clothing and retro-reflective elements!
