20 April, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Orsha will welcome participants of the international motor rally "On the Roads of Victory!" on April 23, the Orsha City Executive Committee's Ideological Work Department informed a BELTA correspondent.
The international motor rally "On the Roads of Victory!", dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War, started on April 3 in Sevastopol (Ukraine). Its participants will be welcomed on April 21 in Brest, then in Minsk and Mogilev, and on April 23 they will be met in Orsha – the last city on the route through Belarus. The event will begin at 7:00 PM at the "Katyusha" memorial complex.
Five cars participating in the motor rally, accompanied by representatives of public organisations, veterans, schoolchildren and students, as well as townspeople who wished to take part in the event, will proceed along Mogilevskaya, Lenina and Mira streets. Schoolchildren will carry a copy of the Victory flag measuring 200 sq.m, and then at the final point of the procession – the memorial sign to the Liberator Warriors – a rally will be held, where all attendees will pay tribute to the fallen defenders of the Fatherland.
Upon completion of the event, the motor rally participants will proceed further to Smolensk, and then their route will continue through other cities of Russia. They plan to arrive in Moscow on May 8 to participate in the Victory Parade in the capital the following day. -0-
