On November 19, Orsha / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Orsha and Smolensk have signed a cooperation agreement, the head of the ideological work department of the Orsha City Executive Committee, Elena Rusakova, told a BELTA correspondent. The cities intend to develop relations in the fields of trade, science, technology, cultural and educational exchanges, sports, and medicine. The authorities of the two fraternal administrative units intend to promote the establishment of direct economic contacts between enterprises and organizations, and to develop options for mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of targeted economic programs. As noted in the economy department of the Orsha City Executive Committee, Orsha enterprises are actively developing foreign economic relations with the regions of Russia. The growth rate of trade turnover for the nine months of the current year amounted to 108.9%, with exports growing by 15.7%. A significant share in export volumes is occupied by products of Orsha Linen Mill, CJSC "Svitank", JV "Dynamo Program Orsha", OJSC "OrshaStroyMaterialy". For example, "OrshaStroyMaterialy" supplied aerated concrete to the Smolensk region for 167.4 million Russian rubles under concluded contracts, and the branch of OJSC "Beltransstroy Trust" "KSKiD" shipped reinforced concrete products worth 10.6 million Russian rubles to its Smolensk partners.
