An event dedicated to the naming of the institution after Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Aleksandrovich Kornachyonok, as well as the unveiling of a memorial plaque and the awarding of diplomas for vocational education to graduates, was held at the Orsha State Food College. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Aleksandr Subbotin, and representatives of the Regional Executive Committee and the Orsha District Executive Committee.

In the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the college students and teachers conducted research work on the feat of the Hero and his biography. Meetings were held with relatives, and their memories were recorded. Based on the collected material, the staff and students proposed to name the educational institution after the Hero to perpetuate his memory. The memorial plaque was unveiled by Aleksandr Subbotin and Sofia Teterina, a graduate of group No. 32.

Addressing the college graduates, the head of the regional executive committee emphasized that the modern Belarusian youth are full of energy and constructive ideas, and bold decisions.

– The future of the country, the prestige and special attitude towards the professions of agriculture and the processing industry largely depend on young specialists, – he said. – You are now entering adult life after completing the most interesting stage. I want to wish you patience, success on your path, and labor achievements.

Representatives of the authorities presented graduates with diplomas for vocational education and gave them words of encouragement.

Aleksandr Subbotin also presented certificates of honor and letters of gratitude to the head of the educational institution, the best teachers, and graduates.

The honored guests familiarized themselves with the material and technical base of the college.
