In the Orsha district, whose development is under the control of the country's leadership, all sectors receive special attention. The social sphere is no exception. The handover of 8 new vehicles to the Orsha Inter-district Ambulance Service was an important event for the region. Approximately 1.9 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for this purpose. 

Since last year, all ambulance services in the Vitebsk region have been consolidated into a unified management system. Thus, since July 2021, the Vitebsk Regional Inter-district Ambulance Service has been operational. Gradually, the departments of Beshenkovichi, Gorodok, Liozno, Senno, and Shumiilino districts, as well as Vitebsk district, became part of it. And since July 1 of this year, the inter-district ambulance service in Orsha has begun to function, comprising 4 adjacent districts: Dubrovno, Orsha, Tolochin, and Chashniki.

Minister of Health of Belarus Dmitry Pinevich congratulated everyone on the holiday, as this event can certainly be called:

– This event is significant not only for Orsha but for everyone as a whole – it is an indicator that the ambulance service was, is, and will remain one of the main elements in the healthcare system. In the post-Soviet space, we have, to some extent, preserved the most important achievements of Soviet medicine and ambulance services. It has remained state-owned, extensive, not only providing urgent and emergency medical care but also serving as a connecting link, including for rural areas. It is important that today we are considering a model not only and not so much of equipment, which is, of course, also very important, but also of centralization. When several districts can be managed from one workplace, it improves efficiency and minimizes the difference between urban and remote medical facilities. There are 860 ambulance teams in Belarus, and what we have seen today in the example of Orsha is a planned step forward, the development of mobile medicine.

In the northern region, there are 116 teams and 137 ambulance vehicles in operation. The Orsha Inter-district Centre has 20 teams and 25 vehicles. The region's fleet of vehicles is being updated in stages. Over the past year, it has been replenished with 26 vehicles equipped with everything necessary for diagnosis and emergency medical care before hospitalization: ventilators and ECG machines, defibrillators, etc.
