To avoid unpleasant situations on the road, the State Automobile Inspectorate strongly urges drivers and pedestrians to be extremely attentive and cautious. In conditions of precipitation and icy roads, it is important for drivers to choose the safest speed, taking into account the condition of the roadway, visibility, and the specific situation on the road. It is recommended to turn on the low beam headlights and increase the following distance to avoid rear-end collisions. Sudden braking and manoeuvres, as well as unnecessary lane changes, should be avoided. Proceed through pedestrian crossings with extreme caution. Those in the vehicle cabin must fasten their seatbelts, and children should be transported in child restraint systems.
It is equally important for pedestrians to take care of their safety. During precipitation, as well as in the dark, reflective elements should be used, ensuring that the reflectors are visible to drivers. Roads should only be crossed at designated pedestrian crossings, and crossing should not begin until all vehicles have stopped. For greater safety, it is advisable to establish visual contact with the driver before crossing the roadway to understand each other's intentions.
The State Automobile Inspectorate is prepared to ensure safe traffic conditions and provide assistance to drivers and pedestrians.
