16 May, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The main expert examination regarding the fire at the Rosson school will be ready in June. This was announced today at a press conference by Vladimir Shalukhin, Head of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent.
"As of today, no charges have been brought against anyone in this criminal case. Over 40 witnesses have been interviewed, and more than 30 expert examinations have been ordered. The most crucial comprehensive fire and technical examination for us is not yet completed. Therefore, it is premature to talk about the causes of the fire," said Vladimir Shalukhin. He also stated that during the fire, violations of current legislation regarding evacuation rules and the storage of waste paper were committed. "All of this is currently being assessed," concluded the Head of the Department.
A criminal case under Part 2 of Article 304 of the Criminal Code "Violation of fire safety rules" was initiated by the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region on March 7, following a fire in the premises of the Rosson Secondary General Education School named after Masherov, caused by the ignition of waste paper stored there. As a result of the incident, eight students of this educational institution sustained bodily injuries of varying degrees of severity. -0-
