On November 4, Vitebsk /Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Belarus plans to develop a core range of veterinary vaccines and master their production at domestic enterprises. This was announced to journalists today by the First Deputy Director of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, Chief State Veterinary Inspector Yuri Pivovarchik, BELTA correspondent reports.
According to Yuri Pivovarchik, this task is set for domestic science in the near future, and its implementation will significantly replace imported analogues. Currently, Belarus is carrying out prevention of about 80 dangerous diseases, and veterinarians and scientists are involved in this important and responsible work.
The cooperation of scientists from different countries is of great importance. "When it is possible to combine the potential of specialists from various countries and regions of the world, it is easier to cope with diseases that know no borders, and it is possible to create specific prevention more quickly, in order to ultimately prevent significant economic losses," emphasized Yuri Pivovarchik.
An international scientific and practical conference "Modern Problems of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics" is being held at the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine with the participation of about 200 scientists and specialists from research centers, as well as veterinary universities from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. The most representative delegation at the conference, along with Belarusian participants, was the team of Russian scientific institutions, which included employees from organizations from almost 20 regions, from Primorye to the westernmost regions of Russia.
Specialists are focusing on discussing issues of industrial livestock development, the creation and implementation of modern technologies in veterinary medicine, as well as technological support for livestock production. The main goal of the conference is to coordinate the educational and research activities of organizations to solve common problems facing veterinary science and education, as well as to exchange experience and expand cooperation in the implementation of joint research projects. Three sections have been organised to present research results and hold discussions on problems of agricultural animal morbidity, including the determination of the pathogenesis of new and currently unknown diseases, the development of advanced drugs, and the creation of vaccines. One of the directions of the dialogue includes issues of genetics and breeding, problems of keeping, feeding, and implementing breeding technologies in livestock farming. Following the conference, a round table is scheduled for November 5 to discuss the state and prospects of veterinary education and research activities in veterinary higher education institutions.
The scientific and practical conference is organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Vitebsk Order of the Badge of Honour State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.-0-
